Inspiration Board: Market Finds at Layla Grace

Home and furniture boutique Layla Grace recently launched a new catagory called Market Finds. I've been drawn to natural hues for interiors lately and was compelled to check out the offerings after coming across some fabulous linen studded pillows by Jaime Young. I love the way modern embellishments are paired with vintage and worn styles. Take a look and be inspired! View the entire collection at Layla Grace.

Inspiration Board: The Color Purple

I recently purchased a home and am in the process of decorating and making it my own. I decided on a neutral color palette infused with metallics and purple as an accent color. The color purple has always been associated with regal-ness, luxury, glamour, and can be both feminine and masculine. Purples, plums, and lavenders create a sense of calm when paired with other calming colors such as creme, tan, brown, gray and white. Today I'm sharing some images from my inspiration board and hope they also inspire you!

Inspiration Board: Welcome Spring

Inspiration can be found anywhere as art often imitates life. Over the weekend I had some extra time and found myself in Pottery Barn. I describe my decorating style to be shabby chic, vintage, modern with a touch of casual glamour. Spring is associated with a feeling of renewal and refreshment. Join me as I welcome the upcoming season inspired by Pottery Barn and the spring runways.

Chic Reads: Happy Chic Colors

95% chic + 5% happy = the decorative nirvana that is Happy chic.

book_happychic_colors

I find interior design just a fascinating as fashion design. I include interior design books in my home library, as they are a source of inspiration. I had to share Jonathan Adler's new book Happy Chic Colors. From the moment I began to read it my mood was instantly lifted! Jonathan's energy seems to bolt from the pages weaving design tips with his common sense musings.

Complete with paint colors and inspirational muses, Jonathan guides you through choosing color paired with your personal touches and contemporary design elements to create a happy place. From moody blues, vibrant reds, eye popping yellow, even nuetrals, (Jonathan affectionately calls "Chambeige"); this book covers them all. If you've ever been afraid to use color or was wondering if you are on the right track this is a must read.
