The Fashionably Chic: Michelle Obama in Naeem Khan at the 2012 White House Correspondents Association Dinner

Fashionably Chic is an understatement! I love Michelle Obama for her impeccable style and beauty that comes from within. As one of my favorite chic fashion icons; you will see a lot of her here. Known for wearing the best in emerging designers, the first lady made a grand appearance wearing Naeem Khan at the 2012 White House Correspondents Association Dinner. Carla Amorim Aurora rose gold and orange sapphire hoop earrings, soft hair and makeup, and over sized cocktail ring completed the look. Stunning, gorgeous, radiant, chic!





The paisley organza gown is a modified version of a one shoulder look from the designer's 2011 fall collection.

Must Haves: High-Low Hemline Dresses

My goal for work attire is fashionable yet comfortable. My go to choice is usually a dress because its super easy one piece dressing in the morning. Grab some shoes, accessories, handbag, throw on a dress. Check! Out the door! Yesterday I wore a dress with a high-low hemline and recieved several compliments out and about and at work. Also referred to as asymmetrical, this style has been around for a few seasons and also making appearances for Fall 2012. So today I'm sharing a few pics you may enjoy!

I absolutely love everything about this dress!

Celebrity Chic: Solange in Stéphane Rolland Couture

Solange Knowles made an red carpet appearance at the  6th Annual DKMS Against Blood Cancer Gala with minimal to no makeup. Still a fashion beast; Solange looks fabulous in a stunning Stéphane Rolland Spring 2012 Couture Gown with sculptural detailed hips and gold plated waist accent. She also chose minimal accessories, just a gold cuff and rings and hair pulled back in a chic bun. I would like to think Solange is making a point with her scalled down look for the charitable event. I must admit without makeup her skin looks flawless, but perhaps a little color would have been a nice addition.

Chic Reads: Beyonce named People Magazine's World's Most Beautiful 2012

Actress, 16 time Grammy winner, entertainer, wife and recently new mother Beyonce; has been named World's Most Beautiful 2012 by People Magazine. Beyonce is the second African American woman to recieve the honor; Halle Berry was the first in 2003. On being a new mom to Blue Ivy born in January; "I feel more beautiful than I've ever felt because I've given birth," she says. "I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a sense of purpose on this earth." 



Known as a style icon Beyonce looks stunning poolside in a turquoise and diamond Lorraine Schwartz necklace and Marchesa gown.

Inspiration Board: The Color Purple

I recently purchased a home and am in the process of decorating and making it my own. I decided on a neutral color palette infused with metallics and purple as an accent color. The color purple has always been associated with regal-ness, luxury, glamour, and can be both feminine and masculine. Purples, plums,and lavenders create a sense of calm when paired with other calming colors such as creme, tan, brown, gray and white. Today I'm sharing some images from my inspiration board and hope they also inspire you!
